As a college student entrepreneur, most of you have been given the advice from people of all ages, claiming that college students should " Wait their turn". It is true to a sense to wait for opportunities in the world of education, however, when it comes to becoming an college student entrepreneur one needs to fail in order to learn. According to a 1997 Gallup study, 7 out of 10 high school students say they want to start their own business. Therefore, the more college entrepreneurs fail the more they will learn what to do and what not to do. In the academia world failing equals possible academic probation and even a loss of financial aid. However, in the world of business failing has a different meaning.
Failing in the business world means the following:
You have learned about certain products and services.
You have taken non-paid time to create a venture.
You have gained experience under you belt for your next venture.
After realizing that education failure has a different meaning then business failure, you should seek out what types of business that you would like to learn about and go for it! Most likely you should launch a business that is closley related to your degree granting field. This way you will be able to streamline both your educational goals and your entrepreneurship priorities. Make sure to blend in all of your social goals as well!
